Positive: Pleasant property in the countryside not far from a village. Lots of historic and cultural attractions not too distant. This whole area of France is magical. The property gave us a very pleasant escape from the hustle and bustle of life for two weeks.

Positive: We had the most wonderful group family vacation at this beautiful mansion-like home in the Dordogne. From the moment we arrived, we were enchanted by the charm of the property and its breathtaking, picturesque surroundings. The house was spacious, spotless, charmingly decorated, and well-equipped, featuring a fantastic kitchen that made cooking together a real pleasure. One of our favorite features was the private balcony, perfect for evening barbecues while taking in the peaceful views. The swimming pool was pristine and refreshing. The location was ideal, with several beautiful towns nearby to explore. We loved visiting local markets and community events that gave us a real taste of the region's culture and charm. A huge thank you to Lizzy, the owner, who was always available, friendly, and full of helpful local advice. Her lovely dogs greeted us every day, which our daughter absolutely adored—they added an extra special touch to our stay. One thing worth noting: the property has its own website, www.lemanoir.org, which includes much more information and helpful resources about the home and the area. It would have been great to know about it ahead of time, as it’s not mentioned on booking.com. Future guests may find it especially useful when planning their stay. In all, it was an unforgettable holiday in a stunning part of France, and a place we would absolutely love to return to. Highly recommended for families or groups looking for a peaceful yet enriching escape in the Dordogne.
Negative: While the house doesn’t have air conditioning, we found that it stayed cool thanks to its thick stone walls. With proper ventilation (each bedroom has fans) and the cooler evenings, we were perfectly comfortable throughout our stay.

Positive: Location is fabulous, the views are lovely, and the little village of St Marcel is the prettiest I've seen for many years. It is also extremely well maintained by the residents who clearly have great pride in their surroundings. Peter and Nancy are extremely pleasant and helpful, and there was heaps of space for the dogs to run and enjoy themselves. The Manoir is located within relatively easy reach of Bergerac, Salat, and places of local interest. Although the buildings are old and rustic they are very well equipped. All in all, an experience we will revisit.
Negative: There was nothing I actively disliked however, for some people the properties could be deemed a little remote and rustic.
